Dental Veneers

Dental technology has come a long way, and there are many ways to enhance your smile.

Dental technology has greatly improved over the years, and enhancing your smile is easier than ever!

Dental veneers are a great option for those looking to correct common cosmetic and functional dental complaints. However, many of our patients at Smiles of West Point have never considered veneers as a treatment option for themselves.

Our state-of-the-art techniques allow us to craft beautiful smiles for those in West Point. The results look very natural and quickly help our patients gain confidence!

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are extremely thin sheets of porcelain that cover the front surface of your teeth, therefore improving the appearance of your smile. They can be used to alter your teeth’s size, shape, length, and finish and are typically placed on teeth at the front of the mouth. However, there are occasions when they are used to rebuild molars, as well.

When applying dental veneers, our dentist and assistants will take into account the natural color of your teeth and what your whitening goals are in order to complement the natural shade of your teeth. It is an option to go a few shades brighter while coordinating the color with the rest of your main. Since the veneers are made of porcelain, they will reflect light like natural teeth.

Benefits of Dental Veneers

Veneers optimize the size, shape and color of your teeth. Some of the advantages of veneers include:

• Natural-looking tooth restoration

• Minimal gum irritation

• Non-invasive

• Stain-resistant

• Long-lasting

Who Qualifies for Dental Veneers?

Veneers are commonly used to repair the following dental issues:

• Discoloration

• Erosion

• Chips and fractures

• Some types of misalignment

• Irregularly shaped teeth

• Short or small teeth

• Gaps between the teeth

While some of these complaints are purely cosmetic, many present a functional problem for the patient. Using veneers to build up broken or worn down teeth can help you to improve your ability to eat and speak.

Using veneers to close gaps can eliminate or minimize hiding spots where food can get stuck. They can also be used to correct misalignment to ease jaw pain. For these reasons, veneers are considered both a cosmetic and restorative procedure that are used to treat a wide variety of issues at Smiles of West Point.

How to Get Dental Veneers in West Point

Although many dental offices in our area require patients to return for multiple appointments, we are able to create dental veneers in just one visit. At your initial consultation, we will determine whether or not veneers are the right option for you and go over the details of the procedure. Once you decide to move forward with this treatment, we will use a 3-D restoration system in our office to prepare your veneers!

Our advanced digital technology provides precision and accuracy when it comes to customizing veneers that are constructed and customized to work with the size, shape, and color of your teeth. Because everything is done in-house and we don’t have to send scans and impressions to an external lab, we can save time and have you smiling right away! There are no temporary veneers involved; we will apply the permanent ones quickly and effectively.

We will ensure that your dental veneers fit perfectly before preparing your existing tooth’s surface. This will create a rough texture that allows the veneers to bond to the tooth using a dental cement. Once we position them correctly, a special light is used to activate the hardening chemicals and create a very strong bond between the tooth’s surface and the veneer.

Veneers do not require any special or additional care. You should continue to brush and floss as usual. You may want to avoid chewing exceptionally hard foods or objects, as these can cause damage to your dental veneers. You should also avoid foods that cause stains to keep your veneers bright and white for as long as possible. All of these precautions are important whether you have veneers or natural teeth.
